I Love…

You really have to get down to your local Superdrug this week. They have the yummiest goodies coming into your store this week. The I Love… range smells good enough to eat. Please don’t try eating it though. My favourites so far are the Raspberry and Blackberry shower gel/bubble bath and the Vanilla Body Scrub.

The fragrance of the scrub is the best smell in the world! It makes me so happy every time I use it! I’m not a massive fan of this kind of body scrub. I think they’re a bit useless as far as a scrub goes and prefer a more sugar/salt type scrub. But this smell totally makes it worth using!

Want to know my second favourite thing about these yummy products? They’re only £1.99 each! Can you believe it? The lip balms are only 50p. I have a body lotion and a lip balm that I’m yet to try but so far I’m seriously in love with I Love…

NOTD – Models Own Peacock Green

I think this might be my favourite nail colour of all time!!! This pic just doesn’t do it justice! It’s got so much depth and it looks like liquid just floating on top of your nails! I love it!

NOTD - Eyeko Vintage Polish

How cute is this polish? I love Eyeko varnishes! So cheap and cheerful. Great colours, they go on nicely and they wear well. They tick all the boxes, if you ask me. This is with two coats and no top coat. I think I might need another coat to get the coverage I'm after. I'm not a fan of sheer varnishes and I just want a little more opacity than I'm getting here. Other than that I love it.

Cucumba - Facial Review

I had a lovely facial at Cucumba in Poland Street on Wednesday afternoon. It was a very spur of the moment thing. I'm feeling so haggard and run down with everything that's been going on over the last few weeks and I just needed a pick me up! I work just down the street from Cucumba and my colleagues said they really liked it. With a half hour facial only being £32.50 I thought it was worth a go!

I called up and they were more than happy to fit me in right away! When I got there there was even someone playing some live guitar music seeking refuge from the rain in the foyer! It's a very relaxed, informal atmospehere at Cucumba. It was perfect for what I wanted. They call it the Urban Pit Stop. It couldn't be truer. Everyone was really friendly and I felt right at home despite looking pretty haggard and stressed.

I was shown downstairs into my little spot. All the treatment booths are curtained off from one another by lovely thick, silk curtains. It was a cosy little room that felt just right for what I was having. The therapist asked me what I needed and I explained that my skin was just very tired and stressed. She knew exactly what to do. Some deep cleansing followed up with a hydration mask. Yes, yes and yes!!!

The half hour felt surprisingly relaxing and not at all like I was just having a "quickie". I've come out feeling refreshed and relaxed and my skin feels just divine. So smooth and revived. It has a lovely glow to it. There was lots of facial massage that has really helped me feel better from the inside as well. There was a double deep cleanse, two different types of gentle exfoliating potions, the hydrating mask and my fniishing moisturise. While the mask was doing it's thing I got a mini shoulder and neck massage that really hit the spot.

Tried and Tested - Clarins Beauty Flash Balm

Beauty Flash Balm is a highly misunderstood creature. It's loved, hated and revered equally by people from all corners of the globe. I've never really been a fan, truth be told. However, I was given some by a friend and I've found a way to make it work for me. I now use this little tube of delight daily! I put it on after my moisturiser has had a minute or two to settle in and it works as my primer. I work a pea sized amount in really well, then I brush my teeth and then I put my bareMinerals foundation over the top. I adore the coverage I get out of this combo. It gives my skin a gorgeous, smooth look that lasts all day.

MyPure.co.uk - Jojoba & Lavender Conditioner

This conditioner is specifically designed for fine hair! How exciting! I was pretty loathe to stop using my Andrew Collinge to give a different conditioner another try. You know how attached I am to my Andrew Collinge products. I've been using the A'kin with my Lovea Argan Shampoo and everyone keeps telling my how shiny and bouncy my hair is. Yay! MyPure.co.uk - Lovea Tahitian Monoi Body Lotion

I'm a bit sceptical when it comes to body lotions. Especially lotions that have the consistency of this one. It was quite light and I didn't think it would have any impact on my Sahara dry skin. Well, once again, I was nicely surprised. This was very nice and really did the trick. I really like that it's a natural SLS, bad stuff free product that managed to actually perform well. It lasted me about six weeks with daily use. Not so long that I was cursing it for never running out but not so quickly that I was annoyed for having to go and get another lotion too quickly. In saying that, it's a product that you would really want to buy if you're dedicated to using natural, eco-mindful products over something that is just plain good value for money. At £6.99 a bottle it's not the cheapest lotion on the block. It's not over fragranced. It's a lovely way to start the day with just a hint of holiday-esque scent. It definitely uplifeted me a little in the mornings when I was throwing my clothes on to run out the door.

NOTD - Eyeko Posh Polish

I've since had my nails Wah'd but I had this varnish on last week. On more than one ocassion I was asked if I was wearing Particulaire! ha ha! At £3.50 I was feeling pretty smug! I love Eyeko nail varnishes. This was two coats and I didn't put on a top coat and it still lasted a really good five days without chipping, etc.

How Does This Still Happen?

Hi,

I'm still not feeling up to being back here properly. I promise you'll be the first ones to know when I am. However, I saw this link on Twitter and I couldn't not share. Animal testing? Still? In this day and age? Please vote with your £££ and try to stay away from these companies. My mind boggles when I think of how they can justify animal testing when so many companies, large and small, have all moved over to more ethical methods of testing their products out.

So please check this list and let companies know that we just won't be bulldozed into a less ethical and generally gorgeous way of life.
